Covid measures are still in place across Europe for 2022, however, some countries have fewer travel restrictions than others. So, we’ve taken a look at the data and have worked out the easiest countries in Europe to visit during Covid in 2022.
We’ve looked at requirements for vaccinations, pre-departure testing, entry forms, face mask mandates and insurance requirements. We’ve also assessed whether or not you need an EU Digital COVID Certificate (EUDCC) or a negative COVID-19 test result to enter places like restaurants and attend public events like concerts.
We’ve also taken a look at what percentage of the population is fully vaccinated. It’s important to remember, that some of the countries that are easiest to visit during Covid 2022, may not be the safest, and you really ought to consider this factor when planning your trip.
All countries, bar Sweden, require you to present an EU Digital COVID Certificate (EUDCC) showing proof of vaccine or recovery on entry. If you are unvaccinated, all countries (bar Sweden) require you to have a pre-departure negative Covid-19 test result.
Up to date vaccination status data taken from Our World in Data. Entry rules and public health mandates taken from Re-open EU and official government websites.
Countries ranked on pre-departure tests required — those with antigen tests ranked higher than those requiring PCR. Countries then ranked by the requirement for covid certs to access tourist establishments, mask mandates and curfews/restrictions in place.
